Week nine...feeling fine! 😎
Good afternoon parents,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and took some time to rest up and relax in the glorious sunshine. I was lucky enough to shoot up to Perth to catch up with some friends and celebrated a belated Father's day with my Dad.
We are on the homestretch now 🎉🥳
Just a few notices for the week ahead...
SCIENCE ORAL PRESENTATIONS
Thank you to all who brought in their mixture poster yesterday. Your child is more than welcome to bring in their mixture if they would like to share it with the class.
SEESAW
We are loving sharing our hard work with you all via the Seesaw app and absolutely love when we can see that our Mums and Dads have left a comment on our work. This can be in typed or verbal form (via record function). We cant wait to share another three posts with you before the end of Term Three, so keep an eye out for our amazing work to come!😍
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Your child should have brought home a letter today about this special OLC project and they watched some of the videos about it and what happens today in class. Please see what group your child is in to know what part of the shoebox gift we hope they can bring in. This initiative has the goal of packing shoeboxes full of little surprises to give to a children who may have never received a gift before. By participating in this our children will have a first hand experience aimed at building the school value of compassion.

Your child will be grouped with three other children to contribute and pack the shoe box. The cost to send a shoe box will be $2.50 per child. We are asking you to encourage your child to do something extra at home to earn the money that is needed to buy the item to put into the provided shoe box.
We are asking for all donations to be brought to school by Tuesday 22nd September (Week 10) please. It is very exciting for the children to share in this initiative which has been a part of the O.L.C. Community for the last 17 years.
There is no need to bring in shoe boxes, as we have been kindly donated them from The Samaritans Purse.
EXTENDED LEAVE
If you are planning on starting holidays early, please be sure to go and see the wonderful Mrs Marell in the front office and fill out an absentee form. It would be greatly appreciated if you could do this so we can ensure all of your child's learning is completed before you finish the term.
BOOK WEEK
Our Book Week celebration will be held on the final Wednesday of term (22nd of September). Your child is asked to dress-up as a book character. The theme for 2021 is “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds,” so their costume may like to reflect that (but doesn’t have to). An assembly will be held in the first part of that day for the children to share the costumes with the rest of the school.

FOOTY COLOURS DAY
On the last day of Term 3, Friday 24th September we will be having a dress up day where your child is able to wear their favourite AFL (or other sporting team) coloured clothing for the day. A gold coin donation is asked for the uniform free privilege with all funds raised going towards our Pastoral Care Fridge and St Vinnies. I will donate an extra gold coin for who ever comes in their best FREO colours! Thanks for your support!
