Week Six here we come! 😎😍
Dear Parents,
Just a few bits of information for tomorrow and next week:
Athletics Carnival
Tomorrow is our annual athletics carnival, kicking off around 9.15. You will have received an email from admin with the schedule for the day. Please also read below other information sent from admin earlier this morning in regards to the day.
I also asked the students to have a bit of a clean out of their school bags this evening as we take them down to the oval for the day to hold their jumpers, lunchboxes and water bottles - and clearly name everything especially food containers, jumpers and hats! Students can bring teddies decorated in team colours but they will be responsible for looking after them for the day. Students can also have coloured hair/zinc but I ask if you could do this before school at home rather than outside the class. I'm very excited to join in the fun and looking forward to a great day tomorrow!
Open Evening
Tomorrow will also be our open evening. The students will have work displayed around the room as well as a few samples on their desks to show. If you are available, please drop in for a look. To save you needing to go home and come back again, we will open the Year Two classrooms once the carnival is finished and cleaned up, hopefully around 3.15 and remain open until 5.30. Your child's writing books, InitiaLit books and term three scrapbooks will be on their desks.
Seesaw
Thank you to those families that have connected to the Seesaw families app since the start of the term. If you need another copy of the link or code, please let me know and I can email it to you. This is a part of our formal reporting process and we now have three different samples of work and learning uploaded for you to see.
NEW POST ALERT 🤩 Posted at the beginning of this week was a learning sample of your child's reading. Your child had to read three passages and had 1 minute to read as many words correctly as possible. Please take your time to listen to each voice recording and the feedback that was given to your child on what their reading goal is. We would especially LOVE if you could provide your child with some feedback by commenting on their work. They love to see that their Mum's and Dad's have acknowledged their hard work 😍🥰 We even had some very clever people give a voice recording for their child...aren't you a bit clever!
*Please note that this learning sample only assesses your child's reading fluency and does not take into consideration their retell and comprehension skills.
Homework
No homework for the remainder of this week but please send in folders tomorrow for us to collect and update with new grids and spelling words to start the fortnightly cycle again on Monday. We do encourage you to continue reading with your child this week with any books you have at home.
