Welcome to Week Four!
Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and you enjoyed this glorious weather we had!
It's been a wonderful first couple of weeks getting into the groove of Year Two and I have loved every minute of it! The children have come to school ready to learn each day and I feel so lucky to have such a beautiful little class that really feel like a little family 👩👧👦😍
There has been some great learning happening and the children have loved getting into our Math and English rotations each morning. Here are a few snaps from our Maths session on Place Value last week...
A few messages for the week ahead:
Bush Fire Drill 🔥🚒
Make sure that your emergency contact details are up to date with the office as we will be having a drill on Wednesday. Please make sure that you come to class to collect your child, I will make a note if your child is going home with another family.
Swimming notes 🏊♀️🗒
If you have not brought in your child's swimming note yet, please come and see me as I have some spares. These are very important for the upcoming swimming lessons in Week 6. We are very lucky that we have the afternoon session for swimming from 12.20-1.45pm. More information on swimming will follow in the comming weeks.
Homework 📚✏
This week, your child will be coming home with their homework book for the year. We would love it if this could be kept in your child's reading folder and work through the activities over a fortnightly period. This is the same concept as last year where children have three activities that they must complete each night and six other activities that can be completed over the two weeks. Please see the picture below of the homework grid for this fortnight.
Merit Award winner 🏆
Congratulations to Beau who was the Week 3 Merit Award Winner. Beau is new to OLC and we have loved getting to know him over the last few weeks. We feel very lucky to have you in our class 😁 You are a Year Two super Star Beau! 🌟🤩
Timetable
Please see our class timetable below for your records 🤓
Looking forward to a great week ahead!
