Term 3, Week 9 & 10 ππ
Dear parents,
We hope you have all had a lovely weekend! Can you believe we are in the final fortnight of Term Three? This term has flown by. It feels like only yesterday that we had school holidays!
Please find below the information for the following fortnight...
Homework
On Monday we will be sending home the Year Two fluency grid with this fortnights focus sounds and tricky words. Have a look at our blog post titled 'Week 4 Information' which shows you how you can use this at home to increase your child's reading fluency. We have also included all of the spelling lists for your information on the back of the fluency grid. The pink list π is the target for Year Two from our InitiaLit program. Please feel free to use these lists at home to increase your child's spelling abilities. Have a look at our Fluency grids and spelling lists below to see our focus sounds π€
Our sounds this week are silent 'b', silent 'k' and two extra tricky words. Have a look at the posters below for the rule of when to use these sounds:
The sports carnival is taking place on Friday 16th of September. Please send your child to school in their sports uniform with their faction shirt on.
Assembly
Please note our assembly is taking place this Thursday 15th of September. It will commence at 2:30 in the hall. If your child is wearing a costume, we ask that you please send it in a labelled bag in their school bag as we will get changed just before lunch. The children are all very excited and we have been working extremely hard to put this together for you all.
If you have any questions or queries about costumes or the assembly please dont hesitate to contact us via email.
Extended Leave
If you are planning on starting holidays early, please be sure to go and see the wonderful Mrs Marell in the front office and fill out an absentee form. It would be greatly appreciated if you could do this so we can ensure all of your child's learning is completed before you finish the term.
Operation Christmas Child
Last week, your child brought home a note that outlined what kind of items can be sent away in the shoebox. We are asking for all donations with the $2.50 to be brought to school by Friday 16th September (Week 9) please.
Have a look at the blog post titled 'Term 3 Week 7 & 8' if you would like any information regarding what your child has been allocated to bring in.
