Term 3, Week 1, 2022
Dear Parents,
Welcome back to Week One. I hope you had a lovely holiday and managed to get some sun (or stay inside with all this rain!). I was lucky enough to escape to Melbourne for the middle weekend and saw the mighty Dockers beat St. Kilda. I hope you all managed to have some rest and relaxation over the last two weeks. We are getting ready for a massive Term Three ahead and cannot wait to get into all the fun learning that will be happening over the next few weeks!
Dance with Mrs. Haines
This semester, our class will be participating in dance every Friday. As this is already a sports day for us, there is no uniform change. I am so excited to see the movers and groovers in our class for the end of year concert.
Assembly
Please put in your calendars Friday 9th of September (Week 8) to keep free as this will be our performance assembly. Please keep an eye on the blog in the following weeks to find out more information regarding readings and costumes.
Homework
On Monday we will be sending home the Year Two fluency grid with this fortnights focus sounds and tricky words. Have a look at our blog post titled 'Week 4 Information' which shows you how you can use this at home to increase your child's reading fluency. We have also included all of the spelling lists for your information on the back of the fluency grid. The pink list 💓 is the target for Year Two from our InitiaLit program. Please feel free to use these lists at home to increase your child's spelling abilities. Have a look at our Fluency grids and spelling lists below to see our focus sounds 🤓
Writing: We look at the structure of a persuasive text.
Mathematics: We investigate multiplication by looking at equal amounts in each group, repeated addition and groups of numbers.
