Week 8....feeling GR8! 😎🌟

 Good afternoon parents,

I hope you had a lovely weekend and have enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and beaches that we are so blessed to have. 

Just a bit of information for the final 10 days of Year Two.... Can you believe the year is nearly over? It has flown by.


HOMEWORK
Homework and reading is now finished for the year. We ask if you have any reading books at home that you please bring them back to school as they are required for inventory. For the  remaining two weeks, I encourage your child to continue reading books they have at home. 

EXCURSION - BUSSELTON JETTY
A reminder that we have our excursion to Busselton Jetty this Friday. 

Please ensure that your child comes dressed in their sports uniform with their teal top and bathers underneath. Your child will need to wear a rashie/tshirt (not school shirt) when playing on the water playground so please ensure they have one and a plastic bag in their school bag to put their wet clothes into before we leave. 

You are all welcome to join us for a shared lunch on the grassed area next to the playground from 12:45pm. Once the children have eaten they will then be able to have a play in the playground. If you would like to take your child home from Busselton, please email us prior. 

VINNIE'S APPEAL
A reminder that we are collecting pantry, non perishable items...if you can please have them in by the end of Week 8, we would be very appreciative!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT 
The Christmas Concert is taking place next Tuesday 7th December. It commences at 6.00pm, so please ensure that your child is here at 5:40pm. Your child will be  required to attend their classroom by 5:40 pm and will walk down as a class, while you can find a nice spot on the hill. 

The theme for the end of year concert dress is ‘Casual Christmas Wear’. Christmas colours, t-shirts, dresses etc and Christmas accessories are all perfect for the occasion. 

The Year 2's are performing a hip hop dance routine. All Year 2's will need to wear a funky jacket (hoodie, denim, leather, vest, windbreaker etc) over their Christmas clothes please. If they would like to wear any 'hip hop accessories' (sunglasses, hat backwards, funky hair style- please no hair out/covering face etc) that would be fantastic. Students to wear sneakers please.

Week Seven is here!

 Good afternoon Parents, I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and managed to get some rest after the massive week we had last week with the athletics carnival. I had a beautiful brunch at Meelup Farmhouse on Friday with some of the other teachers from school.  Just a few notices for the week ahead... Athletics Carnival Congratulations to  Leeuwin  on winning the Sports Carnival last Wednesday, a fine speech by our captains Cooper and Paige.  The students again showed such great enthusiasm and sportsmanship on the day and gave it their all for every game or race they participated in! What a great way to finish week 6! Open Night A big thank you to all the families who came to our open night last week (we know it was a long day after the sports carnival, so we really appreciate it). Dear parents,  I hope you have had a great start to your week and have enjoyed hearing about our swimming adventures over the past week and a half. We have loved being down by the bay despite the cooler weather, the water has been like glass! Have a look at some of the pictures from our lessons below... Just a few messages this week... Parents in the classroom: Sadly at this stage parents are no longer able to enter into the classroom in the mornings during gathering time.  As per the government information for schools, parents must also wear face masks at school even when outside. Unfortunately, this also extends to parent teacher interviews so therefore our main port of call will be via email. Please see the previous blog post if you do not have my email address. Parent Information Night: Due to COVID requirements there will not be a parent information night this year. We will pass on the required information in another form and more information will be coming out next week....
