A few reminders for this week

Good morning parents, 

I hope you have had a lovely start to your week and didn't get caught up in the Perth traffic or lock down down here! I was one of the unfortunate ones up in Perth on the 18th visiting my new nephew so you would have seen me rocking the mask that the wonderful Mr McSevich made me! 


Just a few reminders for the remainder of this week...

Assembly

Just a reminder that our assembly is this Friday (tomorrow) commencing at 2.15pm. If your child would like to bring along a bright coloured shirt in their bag to wear for our assembly, they are more than welcome to, otherwise, their faction shirt will be fine. If your child has a reading, we would love it if you could practise it with them tonight, one more time. We are looking forward to sharing our prayer assembly with you!

Friendology

As we are beginning our Friendology lessons this term, we would appreciate if your child could bring along a small stuffed teddy or beanie boo for our lesson on 'How to be a good friend'  tomorrow. Please only bring a stuffed toy that can fit inside your child's school bag. 



Homework due this week 

Just a friendly reminder that homework is due tomorrow. If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to contact me. 

Koomal Dreaming (Incursion/Excursion)

Keep your eye on the blog for information about our Cultural incursion with Josh Whiteland through Koomal Dreaming on Monday 17th of May  from 9.30-11.00am (Week 5). We are lucky enough to have Josh help us build a Mia Mia on our school grounds and will be after three parent helpers for each class to help us. Please keep an eye on the blog for more information in the coming weeks. 

Merit Award

Congratulations to Josh who was the Week 1 Merit Award winner. You are a super star Josh!


I was also asked by a few of the kids to put my wedding video up so here it is...if you feel so inclined!

Week Seven is here!

 Good afternoon Parents, I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and managed to get some rest after the massive week we had last week with the athletics carnival. I had a beautiful brunch at Meelup Farmhouse on Friday with some of the other teachers from school.  Just a few notices for the week ahead... Athletics Carnival Congratulations to  Leeuwin  on winning the Sports Carnival last Wednesday, a fine speech by our captains Cooper and Paige.  The students again showed such great enthusiasm and sportsmanship on the day and gave it their all for every game or race they participated in! What a great way to finish week 6! Open Night A big thank you to all the families who came to our open night last week (we know it was a long day after the sports carnival, so we really appreciate it). Dear parents,  I hope you have had a great start to your week and have enjoyed hearing about our swimming adventures over the past week and a half. We have loved being down by the bay despite the cooler weather, the water has been like glass! Have a look at some of the pictures from our lessons below... Just a few messages this week... Parents in the classroom: Sadly at this stage parents are no longer able to enter into the classroom in the mornings during gathering time.  As per the government information for schools, parents must also wear face masks at school even when outside. Unfortunately, this also extends to parent teacher interviews so therefore our main port of call will be via email. Please see the previous blog post if you do not have my email address. Parent Information Night: Due to COVID requirements there will not be a parent information night this year. We will pass on the required information in another form and more information will be coming out next week....
